group exploited the mines of Navelgas, establishing the <strong>Asturian Auriferous Society (Sociedad Aur\u00edfera Asturiana)<\/strong>. The group reopened the mines between 1950 and 1956, returning to extract gold as the Romans did.<\/p><p><strong>Enrique Sanfiz Fern\u00e1ndez<\/strong>, an illustrious resident of Navelgas, is a leading figure in the recovery of the tradition. His involvement in the Sociedad Aur\u00edfera Asturiana revived the passion for gold panning, which has today become a tradition promoted by the <strong>\u201cBarciaecus\u201d Goldpanning Association<\/strong>. This is a project designed to integrate the local community into the worldwide goldpanning movement for recreational and tourism purposes.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<section class=\"elementor-section elementor-top-section elementor-element elementor-element-c3c5f42
